Forever a Work In Progress
Every piece of art develops and grows throughout the creation process. There are points where I see great promise, then after a little more work, it’s a mess. That pattern continues. One second thrilled with the progress, the next hoping it’s possible to rectify mistakes.
At some point I reach a place where I decide it’s finished. Whether a success or failure, it leaves the drawing board and has an end.
This self portrait is intentionally left unfinished because I won’t ever be either. There will be moments I’m proud of and moments of perceived failure. But I, like this drawing, remain imperfect and unfinished forever.
